The main contractor of the renaissance dam on divisions of the electromechanical and hydraulics steel structure, the Metals and Engineering Corporation continues playing its role intensively leading the realization of the Ethiopian Renaissance.
Currently, the Metals and Engineering Corporation has providing steel products useful for the work of diverting the course of the river Abay (Nile) advancing the concrete filling of the Dam that would follow the diversion work.
Comments indicate that the dam, that stimulates the public unity and mobilizes the whole Ethiopians living inside and abroad bring into being the proud of all the Ethiopians, is emphasized because it assures the large involvement of local companies such as the Metals and Engineering Corporation.
It was noticed that to improve/redesign the dam’s power source from 5250MW to 6000MW after completion was carried out by the Metals and Engineering Corporation.

The Construction Machineries Manufacturing Sub Industry in the Metals and Engineering Corporation of the E.F.D.R. has changed its previous address that had been located in Bishoftu town to a new site in the Amhara regional state in north Shoa of the Debere Birhan town to broaden and promote its production /manufacturing capability.
The industry is emerged in a new trend by strengthening its internal capability having manufactured/produced construction machineries such as excavators, smooth compactors, dozers, loaders, forklifts, cranes, rock drillers, deep well digging machineries and supporting the development of the country.
It was said that the industry had provided for sell more than 750 small and medium construction machineries to the F.D.R.E. road authority and other organizations to support the development progress.
